I’m Not as Tough as I Thought

This digital story is the most memorable part of my summer camping experience.

Modern Day Native American Painting, Pottery, and Architecture

By reviewing modern day paintings, pottery, and architecture of Santa Fe, NM, students will be able to see the deliberate connections to the Native American way of life in the Southwest region of the United States.   Students will be expected to draw upon their background knowledge to connect Native American cultural symbols to modern day the modern day art of Santa Fe.

Modern Native American Architecture of the Southwest

Santa Fe, New Mexico

While I was visiting the Santa Fe area this summer, I was so intrigued by the Native American cultural preservation shown through the architecture.  It is my intent to have students assess the similarities and differences of the modern architecture in Santa Fe to other, older structures, such as the dwellings in Mesa Verde, Colorado.

I hope my students will be excited to take a virtual field trip to Santa Fe and discover how old influences can shape modern life.
